FAQs
How
will EMC's certification affect my program's current
certification?
Our certification
should not impact the 'self-certification' that your program
currently offers. For those programs independently certified
through us it is offered in addition to what is currently offered.
The benefit to practitioners and programs is that they meet the
accreditation standard of independent certification through
EMC and you benefit from our (future) accreditation status and
marketing efforts.
As an
independent practitioner not associated with a program of study, can
I be certified by EMC?
No. We contract
with programs to certify their students/practitioners.
Will my
program's certification be accredited through EMC?
No. EMC will be
accredited with NCCA. This means that as a certification
organization we meet their accreditation standards. This adds value
to our certifications (and therefore yours) and answers the
question, "Who accredits your certification?"
Will this
certification be used to regulate disciplines that offer hands on
healing?
No. There is a
difference between credentialing and licensure. A credential is
voluntary, meaning you choose to achieve it. Licensure is required
by law in order to practice.
What if I
choose not to certify? Will I still be allowed to practice?
Yes. It is NOT our
intent to limit the ability of individuals to practice. We believe
strongly that all ethical practitioners should be allowed to
practice.
What is the
purpose of certification?
The sole purpose
of certification is to provide professional organizations and the
public the information necessary to protect their interest in
obtaining a qualified energy medicine practitioner.
